Call for demos

PDF version

This year, the International Symposium on Spatial and Temporal Databases (SSTD 2015), in its 14th edition, has an individual track and program committee for evaluating demonstration submissions (aka, "demos").

The demos track invites submissions of short papers, describing demonstrations of systems (developed or under development) related to the topics of interest of the main event. The selection criteria for the demonstration proposals include: the novelty, the technical advances and challenges, and the overall practical attractiveness of the demonstrated system. Accepted contributions will be presented at a special demo session during the symposium and will be included in the proceedings of SSTD 2015. The best demo paper, as selected by the Demonstrations Chair will be recognized with "SSTD 2015's Best Demo Award".

submissions

Demo submissions should have a maximum of 5 pages in LNCS format (to be included in the proceedings). Sample style files are available for Latex2e and Microsoft Word. The use of Latex2e is preferred. Up to 4 pages are to be used to describe the scientific background, and an additional page should describe the nature of the demonstration that will be given at SSTD 2015. Please submit your manuscript via the submission website for research papers. If you have any questions about paper submissions, you may contact with one of the PC co-chairs; Christophe Claramunt(chrisophe.claramunt at ecole-navale.fr), Raymond Chi-Wing Wong (raywong at cse.ust.hk), or Markus Schneider (mschneid at cise.ufl.edu).

A submission should include:

  • Motivation for the demonstrated concepts
  • Information about the technology and the system to be demonstrated (including a system description, functionality and figures when applicable)
  • Justification of the system's significance
